This allows us to integrate communication with the IBC protocol, opening the Cosmos ecosystem to Unigrid. This means more collaboration opportunities, resources, and ways to connect with other projects and communities within the Cosmos ecosystem.

The Cosmos IBC protocol, also known as the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol, is a cutting-edge technology that enables cross-chain communication and interoperability between different blockchain networks. It allows different blockchain networks to communicate and transfer value with each other securely and efficiently.

By connecting to the Cosmos IBC protocol, Unigrid will be able to connect with other projects and communities within the Cosmos ecosystem, opening the doors to more collaboration opportunities, resources, and ways to connect. With this update, you will then be able to access your Unigrid tokens from MetaMask, or any Cosmos enabled wallet, providing more flexibility and convenience when managing your tokens. Additionally, this allows Unigrid to be listed on DEXes and create swaps to many other chains, increasing liquidity and exposure for our token. The new chain will make the process of swapping more seamless and efficient, provide more security for your tokens, and ensure that the process is transparent and auditable.

Before this decision, we planned to rewrite our consensus in Java, which would have been time-consuming. Now that we are switching to the Cosmos SDK, we can focus on our end goal: bringing you a truly decentralized internet.

Gridnodes and Vallidators

Unigrid is taking a unique approach to consensus by integrating both gridnodes and validators into its network. This allows Unigrid to have two networks working together in harmony, providing a robust and secure platform for decentralized cloud storage.

Gridnodes, as their name suggests, serve as the backbone of the Unigrid network by providing the computing power and storage needed to support the decentralized cloud storage solution. Gridnodes are incentivized to participate in the network by being rewarded in UGD, the native token of the Unigrid network.

Validators, on the other hand, play a critical role in maintaining the security and integrity of the Unigrid network. They are responsible for verifying and validating transactions, and they ensure that the network operates according to its protocols.

The integration of both gridnodes and validators into the Unigrid network creates a powerful and well-balanced system for decentralized cloud storage. The gridnodes provide the computational power and storage needed to support the network, while the validators ensure that the network remains secure and operates according to its protocols.

Starting a gridnode on the Unigrid network is easy and accessible, with a starting stake of 2000 UGD. This provides a low barrier of entry for individuals and organizations to participate in the network and contribute to its growth and success. With the integration of gridnodes and validators, Unigrid is poised to become a leading player in the decentralized cloud storage space.

We want to take a moment to apologize for the delays in releasing our Hedgehog network. We understand that many of you have been eagerly awaiting the launch, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This required a lot of necessary changes and upgrades to our network, which took longer than expected. Additionally, there were some unforeseen complications that we had to work around, which further delayed the release.
